This is a non-exempt inside sales position. The Business Development Specialist schedules appointments for Employee Benefits sales executives.  The Business Development Specialist enhances the public image of the Agency by proactively performing the following duties.  Part time; 20 hours weekly cold calling businesses.


  • Follows company procedures with respect to all essential duties and responsibilities of the job.
  • Calls and writes to prospects via lists provided.
  • Call prospective customers by operating VOIP telephones, automatic dialing systems, and other Internet technologies.
  • Must be able to cold-call on prospects, influence others and schedule appointments.
  • Collect prospect information for EB sales executives.
  • Obtain prospects’ information and enters into database.
  • Ability to work between 9 AM EST and 5 PM EST; MONDAY- FRIDAY.
  • Part time; 20 hours weekly cold calling businesses.
  • Effectively use sales techniques to identify prospective clients to provide leads for additional business. Generates a steady flow of qualified prospects from own leads and company supplied leads and solicits referrals from existing customer base.
  • Gathers complete client information necessary for marketing the account. Gathers updated information at each renewal.


  • High school education or equivalent and at least one-year related experience and/or training.
  • Must be a self-starter, imaginative, and creative with good communications skills and strong personal skills. 
  • Must be competitive, persistent, and self-reliant, with high energy and sales drive.
  • Must be able to cold-call on prospects, influence others and close the sale.
  • Travel less than 5%
  • Valid Drivers License required
