Administers information from clients by phone, email and fax in order to process insurance claims; work with clients, adjusters, and Producers on claims status, problems, and questions. Additional responsibility for managing claims, collaborating with insureds and assisting with problem solving in conjunction with Account Executives and Producers.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Reports commercial lines claims to insurance carriers for clients.
  • Reviews claim information and related documents for completeness.
  • Calls or writes insured or other involved persons for missing information and posts or attaches information to claim file.
  • Works directly with both insureds and claimants to identify new claims.
  • Identifies policies with potentially applicable coverage.
  • Provides initial claim information and documentation to insurance carriers.
  • Secures insurance adjuster information, claim number and carrier acknowledgment for client and for claim file.
  • Serves as point of contact for insurance adjuster and client for claims-related issues.
  • Acts as client advocate and liaison to insurance carriers.
  • Resolves coverage questions or refers them to Director of Claims or producer.
  • Secures loss runs from carriers, as requested.
  • Prepares claims information for and participates in presentations, as requested.
  • Performs special projects as identified by Director of Claims.
  • Resolves customer claim issues in coordination with producers to reduce E&O exposure.
  • Provides claim reporting guidelines to customers, as requested.
  • Builds and maintains relationships with internal and external stakeholders that may include clients, safety specialists, and producers.
  • Follows company policies and procedures with respect to all essential duties and responsibilities of the job.


Minimum Qualifications, Education and/or Experience:

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of claims management system and/or agency management system software; database software; internet software; Microsoft Office software.
  • Prior experience in claims or insurance.

Desired Experience:

  • Prior experience working for insurance broker or agency.
  • Claims/Insurance designation(s).

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

Valid Adjuster license where required.
