Summary This position is responsible for assisting the Group Benefits department in accurate and timely new business quotes, renewals, renewal alternates, new case implementation and other general employee benefits questions asked by our agents.  


Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Includes the following (other duties may be assigned):


  • Data entry of new sold groups into the carrier systems, requesting new business quotes using carrier systems and providing alternate quotes for renewal groups.
  • Support agent needs and be the subject matter expert for health, life, dental and other specialty products.
  • Assist in sending renewals to our agents, responding to all quote requests within 48 hours, reviewing sold cases within three days of receipt and returning phones calls within 24 hours of receipt
  • Remain abreast of the health insurance environment and constantly changing insurance legislation and carrier plan offerings
  • Respond to routine and non-routine correspondence.
  • Work independently and within the team on special nonrecurring and ongoing projects
  • Maintain composure and effectiveness under pressure in a deadline driven environment
  • Within 6 months of employment study for and obtain health and life insurance
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred, but not required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong PC skills with the aptitude to learn new systems.
  • Knowledge of health, life and disability plans preferred.
  • Familiarity with accounting or finance preferred.
