Overview

College 2 Career Internship Program:

At AssuredPartners, we are excited to offer a robust professional development program that starts with college interns who can progress to long, fulfilling careers in the insurance industry. As a college intern, you will have the opportunity to work with a service mentor throughout the duration of your internship, as well as learn more about different departments and opportunities across AssuredPartners, with the potential of returning to AssuredPartners full-time, post-graduation.

 

Overview of Program

As a Service Intern, you will gain an understanding of the Insurance Industry and the distribution models for Insurance Products. The program will provide you with a broad understanding of the insurance brokerage cycle from identifying and properly marketing risks, building a service timeline, implementing service requests, and working through a renewal. You will build valuable skills in creating and presenting business proposals, understanding specific carrier and wholesaler risk appetites, and developing time management strategies. 

Responsibilities

Overview of Primary Responsibilities:

During our Internship Program, you will:

  • Complete a rotation through critical teams which help assess issues, develop solutions, negotiate risk transfer contracts, and provide claims advocacy on behalf of policy holders.
  • Review ­­contracts and tailor policies around specific legal requirements.
  • Accompany Account Managers on renewal meetings. 
  • Gather quotations for clients and vendors. 
  • Understanding key insurance coverages and applying them to specific client opportunities.
  • Copy data and compiles records and reports. 
  • Opens and routes incoming mail, answers correspondence, and prepares outgoing mail.
  • Tabulate and post data in appropriate customer contact system or in data base/spreadsheet.
  • Follow company policies with respect to all essential duties and responsibilities.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Must be enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university. 
  • Ideal candidates will be professional and congenial - with inquisitive personalities and critical thinkers.
  • Must be driven, self-starting, and coachable while demonstrating a high level of maturity.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common business documents, and a high capacity for learning is critical.
