    Job Title: Accounting Clerk

    Department: Finance

    Reports to: Controller

    FLSA Status: Non-exempt

     

    Summary: This position will contribute to the efficient and effective workings of the finance department by executing accounts receivable tasks with a strong attention to detail.  This role will utilize accounting knowledge, time management skills and effective problem solving to ensure success.

    Responsibilities

    • Post daily cash receipts into production system.
    • Prepare and process month end allocations.
    • Create and post month end and ongoing journal entries into production system.
    • Track and follow-up with insurance carriers on unpaid commission and commission statements.
    • Provide financial status information by preparing special reports and projects.
    • Maintain records of all financial documents with appropriate supporting material and update as necessary.
    • Uphold accounting controls by following policies and procedures, and complying with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements.
    • Update customer records with account information in database when applicable.
    • Protect company by keeping information confidential.
    • Contribute to the team goals by accomplishing related projects.
    • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading professional publications.
    • Represent AP Benefit Advisors in a positive and professional fashion with both internal and external customers.
    • Contribute to the team goals by accomplishing related projects.
    • Maintain composure and effectiveness under pressure in a deadline driven environment.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

     

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor of Science in Accounting or Finance preferred
    • 2+ years of relevant experience or combination of education and/or equivalent work experience
    • Strong PC skills with the aptitude to learn new systems
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
    • Familiarity with Quick Books Enterprise Solutions software preferred, but not required
