    Job Title: Account Manager - EB

    Department: Account Manager

    Reports to: Agency President

    FLSA Status: Exempt




    This position works in conjunction with sales team, carriers, and third-party administrators to obtain data and manage mid-market group clients (50-250 employees) through the analysis and implementation process.



    Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Includes the following (other duties may be assigned):


    • Build, expand and solidify relationships with existing clients at all levels within the company to ensure account retention and a superior experience.
    • Maintain existing client base by answering product and service questions in a timely and efficient manner
    • Recommend information about other products and services for additional organic sales growth.
    • Sustain customer records by updating account information in all applicable database systems when applicable.
    • Act as an advocate on behalf of the clients.
    • Assist in the evaluating current product results; identifying needs to be filled; monitoring competitive options; analyzing and relaying customer experience.
    • Provide a proactive renewal timeline for all client accounts.
    • Follow applicable processes and procedures to ensure that expectations and turnaround times are met.
    • Delegate items when appropriate to the internal sales and marketing team to ensure all client deliverables are met timely.
    • Coordinate meetings with the sales consultant on applicable upcoming renewals and client related appointments.
    • Direct the implementation and execution of sold accounts to the carrier and/or third-party administrator.
    • Remains abreast of the health insurance environment and constantly changing insurance legislation
    • Responds to routine and non-routine correspondence.
    • Handles highly confidential and sensitive information.
    • Work independently and within the team on special nonrecurring and ongoing projects
    • Represent AP Benefit Advisors in a positive and professional manner with both internal and external customers
    • Maintains composure and effectiveness under pressure in a deadline driven environment
    • Performs other duties and special projects as assigned


    • Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years industry experience; or combination of education and/or equivalent work experience
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
    • Strong PC skills with the aptitude to learn new systems
    • Life and Health Insurance License (required)
    • Self-funded health plan knowledge and experience
