    The Big Picture:

    The Associate Proposals Manager supports sales opportunities by generating responses to client requests for quote and acts as liaison to support field sales team. Serves as key execution point between sales and product/service delivery and hand off to the Implementation department. This is an entry-level position into the Proposals Manager job family.



    The Day-to-Day:


    • Assists in identifying client needs and works with Sales by developing meaningful questions to extract the necessary client information, and by analyzing the client’s needs and benefit plan designs in order to provide meaningful benefit solutions
    • Develop working knowledge of all product offerings, ROE’s, proposal processes, and carrier relationships.
    • Works within carrier systems to create or request benefit plans. Assists in proposal creation, which includes coordination of requests from carriers, computing and analysis, and detailed document preparation. Collects, organizes and analyzes data, in support of existing business and proposal development
    • Works with Sales and insurance carrier representatives to obtain pricing in order to build benefit designs that meet the client’s needs
    • May support clients in conjunction with the retention team and assist in maintaining client relationships by preparing for and working with carriers and internal departments to renew products and services
    • May act as a liaison between the proposal managers and/or sales teams (and the client) in order to understand the client’s specific needs to ensure client satisfaction
    • Collaborates with both internal and external partners and provides the glue that keeps internal communications with the client consistent throughout
    • Maintain product offering grids/documents, and process documents, as assigned
    • Maintains hard copy and electronic filing systems and recordkeeping systems
    • May assist with creating presentations, developing handouts, and other meeting and event materials
    • Escalates issues/concerns to manager or other experienced team members
    • Completes special projects and other duties, as assigned


    The Right Person for the job has:


    • Knowledge of employee benefit products, i.e., medical, dental, retirement and wellness products, preferred
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook & PowerPoint), Adobe Acrobat, specifically must be able to create formulas, vlookups, pivot tables, at a minimum
    • Proficiency with Salesforce preferred
    • Excellent interpersonal, communication (both verbal and written), and client relationship skills; ability to prepare professional business correspondence, emails, and reports
    • Analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to calculate figures (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, etc.)
    • Solid time management, organizational and prioritization skills with the ability to balance multiple projects and meet deadlines; must be detail-oriented
    • Effective team player


    Required Education & Experience:


    • Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
    • Previous experience in contract/proposal management, sales or account management; healthcare industry, is preferred




    • Requires a General Lines – Life, Accident, Health & HMO license or the ability to obtain the license within 6 months of employment and required to complete continuing education every two years to maintain license

    Note:  You must be able to pass an extensive background check by the State in order to obtain your license
