    Responsibilities

    The Big Picture

    The Accountant will be responsible for general ledger accountability, financial analysis, financial reporting and special reports, as well as financial profitability analysis and other special projects as assigned. The position works closely with other accounting personnel as well as internal departments.  The Senior Accountant will work under limited supervision.

    The Day to Day

    • Compiles and analyzes financial information to prepare financial statements including monthly and annual accounts
    • Reconciles accounts, including sub-ledger and general ledger accounts
    • Reconciles and balances bank statements and/or contributions for multiple accounts/plans
    • Researches and corrects accounting discrepancies
    • Analyzes and prepares monthly reports
    • Reviews junior level accounting staff’s work
    • Assists with training and mentoring junior level staff
    • Ensures all financial reporting deadlines are met
    • Assists with department overflow and maintains flexibility regarding work schedule
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    • Expert computer skills needed with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) and the Internet

    Qualifications

    Required Education & Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
    • 4+ years of accounting experience required with and financial statement preparation experience preferred
    • Experience working with high volume, both dollars and quantity
    • Experience in MS Excel spreadsheet development
    • Experience with MAS200 preferred
