    Department: Marketing / Underwriting

    Reports to: Director of Underwriting 

    FLSA Status: Exempt

    Job Type: Full-Time

     

    Summary: This position is responsible for working with sales executives in preparing requests for proposals, obtaining and analyzing carrier quotes, inputting data into various automation systems.

     

    Responsibilities

    Essential Functions of the job include the following: 

    • Execute competitive bidding of all coverage lines and prepare reports outlining financial and contractual analysis according to company policy.
    • Review vendor proposals for accuracy.
    • Assist Sales Executives to evaluate, determine and recommend alternative. coverages, pricing, options, and plan design changes based on analysis of available plan elements and on client/prospect goals.
    • Produce deliverables timely, accurately, and in compliance with company standards.
    • Develop positive relationships with vendor representatives.
    • Remain abreast of the health insurance environment and constantly changing insurance legislation.
    • Respond to routine and non-routine correspondence.
    • Work independently and within the team on special nonrecurring and ongoing projects.
    • Represent AP Benefit Advisors in a positive and professional manner with both internal and external customers.
    • Maintain composure and effectiveness under pressure in a deadline driven environment.
    • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

    Skills/Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree in business related field
    • 2-3 years employee benefits industry experience preferred
    • Combination of education and/or equivalent work experience
    • Life and Health Insurance License and/or obtain within 90 days
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
    • Strong PC skills with the aptitude to learn new systems
