    Summary: Leadership position responsible for managing the unit accounting operations including, agency and direct bill production and related accounts receivable and producer commission expense, company and vendor payables and other general ledger accounts specifically assigned.


    Manages Accounting functions of assigned Agencies with attention to daily cash flow operations and financial reporting.



    Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.


    Process carrier and vendor payments


    Monitor cash flow


    Monitor accounts receivable and accounts payable


    Reconcile general ledger and bank accounts


    Explain monthly budget variances


    Monitor all financial activity to ensure compliance with GAAP


    Assists President of assigned offices with operational responsibilities as needed


    Oversight of financial reporting on a monthly basis. Creates detailed general ledger schedules associated with the assigned profit centers to assist with audits, surveys, and tax return preparations. Meets deadlines associated with the month-end close process of assigned profit centers


    Analyze and resolve complex accounting issues


    Leads annual budget process and the development of forecasts for profit centers throughout the year.



    Works with senior management including the CFO and others to improve the profitability and growth of the Agency.


    Partners with other departments assist with evaluating acquisitions and to identify and eliminates non-value added activities within the Agency to improve operations. Acquisition due diligence and subsequent transition into existing operations.


    Leads annual audit for the Agency financial statements. Arranges for audits of company's accounts. Assists auditors and TPA’s during audits by providing information and answering questions.


    Responds to both internal and external customer information requests in a timely manner and ensuring customer satisfaction.


    Recommends modifications to existing corporate programs. Analyzes financial statements in order to point out areas that can be improved upon for recording transactions, streamlining of procedures, and ways to increase the bottom line for assigned profit centers.


    Prepares reports which summarize and forecast company business activity and financial position in areas of income, expenses, and earnings based on past, present, and expected operations.


    Provides management with timely reviews of organization's financial status and progress in its various programs and activities.


    Advises management on desirable operational adjustments due to tax code revisions.


    Establishes relations with banks and other financial institutions. Responsible for cash management and or administration of banking websites associated with the accounts linked to the assigned profit centers.


    Follows company policies and procedures with respect to all essential duties and responsibilities of the job.

    Education and/or Experience                                                  

    Bachelor’s degree (B A.) or equivalent; or four to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.   C.P.A.


    Language Skills                                               

    Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.


    Mathematical Skills                                                    

    Ability to work with mathematical concepts, such as, probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts, such as, fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.


    Reasoning Ability                                            

    Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.


    Computer Skills

    To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Agency management software; Database software; Internet software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
