    Job Title: Sr. Healthcare Data Analyst

    Department: Data Analytics

    Reports To: Director, Data Analytics

    FLSA Status: Exempt



    This position is responsible for designing risk management strategies and producing measurable outcomes for clients and prospects using data and technology.


    Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Identify, analyze and interpret benefits plan data to identify population risk, financial trends, and utilization trends.
    • Develop risk strategies through value-based plan design, contribution, and benefit initiatives.
    • Prepare financial forecasts through predictive modeling tools.
    • Develop and implement databases, data collection systems, data analytics and other strategies that optimize efficiency and quality.
    • Enhance plan communications platform by leveraging technology.
    • Support sales and prospecting efforts in the Large Group Practice.
    • Cultivate and manage relationships with administrators and insurance carriers.
    • Present plan performance reports to clients on a scheduled basis.
    • Evaluate current product results; identify needs to be filled; monitor competitive options; and analyze and relay customer experience.
    • Travel for client/prospect meetings and incorporate time in the office for planning, preparation, and training
    • Provide team and client with appropriate timelines to ensure that expectations and turnaround times are met.
    • Contribute to the team goals by accomplishing related projects.
    • Provide technical guidance and training to other team members as assigned.
    • Complete and submit all required reports based on assigned deadlines.
    • Represent AP Benefit Advisors in a positive and professional fashion with both internal and external customers.
    • Maintain composure and effectiveness under pressure in a deadline driven environment.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Education and/or Experience                                               

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Business Administration or similar degree preferred
    • 5+ years equivalent work experience or combination of education and/or equivalent work experience
    • Proficient utilization of data analytics tools preferred (e.g., Navigator MD, Verscend, Windsor Strategy Solutions)
    • Microsoft Office proficiency and demonstrated ability to learn new software systems
    • Advanced Knowledge of Self-Funding preferred, but not required 

    Language Skills                                            

    Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Superior written and verbal skills. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.


    Mathematical Skills                                                  

    Highly analytic and proficient in statistics and mathematics.  


    Reasoning Ability                                                     

    Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.


    Other Skills and Abilities                                          

    Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

    Thorough knowledge of markets. Advanced knowledge of self-funded plans.


    Other Qualifications                                                 

    Must be willing to travel.
