Provides support to underwriting operations for existing and prospective agents and policyholders by monitoring and analyzing applications for insurance and other service requests. Takes action within assigned limits of authority. Provides technical expertise related to workflows, system development, profitable growth opportunities or other program analysis by performing the following duties.

Provides Underwriting and system support for agents and policyholders based upon department’s underwriting criteria. Assists in preparation of Executive Summaries and Renewal Forecasts and other business metrics as may be required.
Answers, evaluates, and prioritizes incoming telephone, voice mail, e-mail, and in-person requests for assistance from users experiencing problems with the underwriting system.
Analyzes and evaluates incident reports and makes recommendations to reduce incident rate.
Consults with system programmers to explain software errors or to recommend changes to programs.
Tests software to evaluate ease of use and whether product will aid user in performing work.
Assists with the writing or revision of user training manuals and procedures.
Develops training materials such as exercises and visual displays.
Develops or maintains Excel spreadsheets or other reporting and processing tools for Underwriting projects and processes as required.
Completes special projects as assigned.
Follows company procedures with respect to all essential duties and responsibilities.
Serves existing client base to ensure retention and growth of lines of coverage.
Researches and maintains knowledge of emerging trends in the insurance industry.
Provides the analytical resources to make cost containment and program enhancement recommendations.
Trains staff and clients on aviation insurance underwriting principals. Provide underwriting support for agents and staff.
Work collaboratively with other business partners on special projects as needed

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must be able to travel.
