    Summary Compiles, updates, and maintains files, submitting requests to underwriters, obtaining results, and reporting results to appropriate people or companies, and entering data into appropriate customer contact system. Operates multi-line telephone system to answer incoming calls and directs callers to appropriate personnel. Will train to become Property & Casualty licensed and assist with Personal Lines and Commercial Lines department as well as other departments as needed.

     

    Responsibilities

    Essential Duties

     

    Includes the following but other duties may be assigned.

     

    Follows company procedures with respect to all essential duties and responsibilities of the job.

    Maintains, organizes and prepares boxes of scanned documents for shredding.

    Processes daily UPS/FedEx shipping via online system.

    Opens and routes incoming mail according to procedure, answers correspondence, and prepares outgoing mail.

    Prepares stock inventory of office supplies.

    Composes routine correspondence and e-mails.

    Performs routine copy and binding projects.

    Copies data and compiles records and reports.

    Backs up Personal Lines agent.

    Assists Office Manager with special projects.

    Operates computer terminal to input and retrieve data.

    Education and/or Experience

    High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Language Skills

    Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

    Mathematical Skills

    Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

    Reasoning Ability

    Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
