Job Title: Senior Tax Accountant

Summary:  The Senior Tax Accountant will be responsible for preparing and assisting with the US GAAP global financial reporting of income taxes, tax planning, income tax compliance, tax research and special projects.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following, other duties may be assigned.

 

Follows company procedures with respect to all essential duties and responsibilities of the job.

 

Prepare the quarterly and annual worldwide US GAAP income tax provision in accordance with ASC 740, including domestic and foreign current and deferred tax provisions, effective tax rate reconciliation, valuation allowance analysis, FIN 48 evaluation and measurement, tax accounts reconciliations and tax related financial disclosures

 

Gather data and prepare supporting workpapers for the US and Canada tax compliance

 

Prepare some state and local income and franchise tax returns

 

Complete quarterly estimate and annual extension calculations

 

Organize and maintain calendar of due dates and prior year tax returns of acquired entities

 

Assist with federal, state and local tax audits and notices

 

Research and analyze domestic and foreign tax issues and appropriately document conclusions

 

Assist with due diligence and purchase accounting calculations for acquisitions

 

Maintain and monitor department compliance with internal controls, policies and procedures

 

Be a business partner to the global finance and operations organization and assist local teams with indirect tax filings, research and audits

 

Assist with tax planning and other special projects

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience                                                   

Bachelors Degree in Accounting and Certified Public Accountant required. Masters in Taxation preferred.  Three to Five years experience.

 

Language Skills                                                

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.  Ability to write simple correspondence.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
