Summary: Working under the supervision of the Team Leader/Department Manager and with Account Executives (AE's), this position will provide the highest level of customer service to assigned clients following DRA/Department Standard Operating Procedures for servicing, timelines and file documentation. This position will actively support the needs of assigned clients, Account Executives (if appropriate), and the agency's renewal, retention, new business and customer service objectives.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties

Service, retain and develop assigned accounts supporting and contributing to agency renewal, retention, new business and service objectives.

 

Responsibilities for accurate and timely handling of all account transactions, including, but not limited to, applications, new and renewal coverages, proposals, binders, confirmations, summaries, premium financing, billings and payments, audits, policies, policy changes/endorsements, contract insurance reviews and insurance certificates, ID cards, and other correspondence and follow-up as may be needed on assigned accounts.

 

Maintain each clients policy and correspondence files and policy/client detail in the agency management system, also using the agency management system for all processing, follow-up and confirmation of transactions.

 

Effectively and clearly responds to and documents all external and internal client and carrier phone, email/mail inquiries and requests on a timely basis.

 

Will keep Team Leader/Manager aware of their workload status and desk condition to assure that client and team/department service standards are being met.

 

Recognizes and as appropriate, consults with the Team Leader/Manager or AE about changes in clients operation or financial condition which might affect the clients insurance program, making adjustments to coverages as needed or required - including cross-selling and referral to Benefits and/or Commercial Lines.

 

In accordance with Department timelines and procedures and in coordination with the AE, collects new and renewal applications or information sufficient to complete applications, including required supplemental information for assigned accounts. Prior to submitting to carriers, reviews for completeness and accuracy. Working closely with clients and AE's as appropriate.

 

As requested by AE's and following each insurer's underwriting guidelines, submit new and renewal applications and any required supplemental information to carriers/MGA's working and communicating professionally with underwriters to negotiate and obtain quotes with terms and conditions as favorable as possible for our clients. This may include inputting information into carriers rating/underwriting programs where required.

 

Working closely with AE's, works through the quote-bind-issue process, preparing quotations, coverage comparisons/summaries, proposals and recommendations needed to insure clients understanding of coverages.

 

Responsible for policy accuracy and timely delivery to assigned clients.

 

Will perform other duties and tasks as may be requested.

Education and/or Experience                                                

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Post secondary degree preferred.

 

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

All applicable insurance licenses.

 

Other Skills and Abilities                                          

Full knowledge of insurance markets.

 

Other Qualifications                                                

Completion of company training program for Account Managers.
