Summary

The goal of the Business Development Director – Association Programs is to accelerate the growth of current insurance product offerings to members and potential members of specific aviation industry trade associations and to expand the programs with new insurance products. The role of the Business Development Director – Association Programs is to ensure consistent, continuous and coordinated sales activity with potential customers, insurance brokers/agencies, insurance carriers, and the aviation industry trade associations served.

 

Responsibilities

Essential Duties

  

Identifies key centers of influence and develops a high level of awareness of the association programs. Communicates product strengths and outcomes on a routine regular basis.  

 

Develops and maintains a prospect list of potential clients throughout the United States. Potential clients include but are not limited to general aviation-related businesses, insurance agents/brokers, and insurance carriers.

 

Conducts an ongoing business development campaign targeting the identified prospects, which includes sales calls, and periodic mailings and e-mailings designed to build name recognition and awareness of the insurance offerings related to trade association partners. Participates in internal and external meetings with trade association representatives and serves on project committees as needed in order to understand potential opportunities and enhance capabilities within the organization.

 

Maintains high level of knowledge of the products and services available throughout the entire AirSure organization and identifies opportunities within the prospect list for the sale of any of these products and services.

 

Coordinates attendance at industry trade shows and meetings to ensure a consistence presence among clients and potential clients (booth, sponsor, exhibits, speaking engagements, handouts, etc.).

Qualifications

 

Education and/or Experience        

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and a minimum of five years marketing/business development experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience, plus a minimum of five years of experience in commercial insurance business.

 

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Valid insurance license.  Ability to be licensed in multiple states, if required.

 

Other Qualifications                                                 

Travel 30% - 50% throughout the country as needed. Overnight travel required.
