Overview

As a Senior Loss Control Advisor, you'll play a crucial role in helping our clients identify and eliminate safety hazards.

 

Your day-to-day will involve:

 

  • Custom OSHA Compliance Programs: Tailored, up-to-date, and aligned with client operations.
  • On-Site Safety Inspections: We identify physical hazards and unsafe behaviors to keep job sites secure.
  • Technical Support & Resources: Expert guidance to help eliminate risks before they become problems.
  • Accident Investigation & Root Cause Analysis: Help clients to understand what happened and how to prevent it from happening again.
  • Injury & Illness Trend Analysis: Spot patterns early and recommend action steps so that clients can prevent future incidents.
  • Loss Control Strategy Development: Reduce claim frequency and limit financial exposure to clients' bottom line.
  • Training That Sticks: Deliver in-person or virtual engaging and impactful safety and health training, empowering every employee to own safety.
  • On-Demand Safety Consulting: Provide timely and accurate safety and loss control expertise.
  • Regulatory Support & Representation: Guide and support clients through inspections and negotiations after serious injury or fatality or OSHA inspection.
  • Digital Safety Newsletter: Assist creating real-time compliance updates, hot topics, and webinar invites.

What You'll Do

  • Works with the client management and risk management teams to develop and implement loss control policies, programs and educational resources to effectively manage the clients hazards and risks.
  • Coordinates all service activities with client risk management and safety personnel.
  • Conducts OSHA Compliance Readiness Audits focusing on business operations and management practices to determine safety issues and hazards affecting insurance premiums and losses.
  • Conducts facility and job site safety audits focusing on physical hazards and unsafe acts or operations to monitor adherence to workplace safety programs.
  • Analyzes history of accidents and claims against insured and inspects scenes of accidents to determine causes and to develop accident prevention programs.
  • Analyzes injury and illness trends to identify and prevent common cause patterns.
  • Develops strategies to minimize loss frequency and financial impact of losses.
  • Conducts safety and health training that includes a solid foundation of safety training for employees, as well as a look at their own personal roles and responsibilities for safety.
  • Develops OSHA Compliance Programs that are up-to-date and relevant to client operations.
  • Creates and provides quality loss control presentations that address our client’s need and promotes risk management services.
  • Effectively manages insurance carrier loss control services to maximize client service options.
  • Provides expertise in governmental regulations and the workings of government agency inspections and negotiation processes, and act as liaison with government agencies (OSHA, DOT).
  • Other duties as assigned.

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 10-15 years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in commercial lines insurance at independent agency (preferred) or insurance carrier.
  • CSP
  • Tech savvy; ability to learn multiple systems including Microsoft Office Suite and Agency Management software
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable MVR
  • Must be able to walk and stand on variable surfaces, climb stairs or ladders, work at heights, work indoors and outdoors in various climates
  • Must be able to adjust schedule, as needed, to attend client meetings and trainings (e.g., occasional early morning, evening and weekend hours

Desired

 

  • Bachelor's Degree/Master’s Degree in Occupational or Industrial Safety, Risk Management and the following certifications preferred: Associate in Risk Management (ARM), Associate in Safety Professional (ASP), and/or Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
