Overview

The primary responsibility of the Commercial Lines Placement Associate will be to support the Commercial Lines Placement Team. The Associate will submit applications to underwriters, respond to underwriting requests for additional information, and obtain the requested underwriting information from commercial lines account managers and producers. Most importantly, the CL Placement Associate will learn commercial insurance by being a sponge as they work side by side with the Placement Team.

What You'll Do

 

This is a unique opportunity to work alongside a placement team with combined 50 years of experience and kickstart a career in commercial lines insurance.

  • Learn: Begin with in-depth classroom work to introduce basic insurance concepts and coverages.
  • Assist: Help the Placement Team market business to underwriters.
  • Manage: Oversee the life-cycle of accounts being marketed and follow up with underwriters.
  • Develop Relationships: Meet with insurance carrier underwriters and marketing personnel.
  • Submit and Quote: Make underwriting submissions to carriers and quote accounts using online platforms.
  • Analyze: Perform analysis of quotes and create comparisons for review by account executives and producers.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What You'll Need

  • Sincere interest in commercial (business) insurance.
  • An eagerness to learn and an ability to apply that knowledge to your work.
  • A creative approach to problem solving.
  • The motivation to work collaboratively.
  • Tech savviness, with the ability to learn and navigate the Microsoft suite and other systems.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Ability to work in our Lowell office three days a week (typically Tuesday through Thursday, with Monday and Friday as work-from-home days).
