We are currently seeking a Manager of Business Development

 

Job Summary

We are seeking exceptional candidates with proven discipline, drive, and commitment who are focused on winning new business and retaining clients for our team. The Manager of Business Development will manage a team of Producers responsible for expanding the company’s client base and managing the existing book of business. This position will manage all activities related to the department and perform the duties outlined below.

What You'll Do

  • Assist in identifying new business opportunities.
  • Score client & prospect meetings, and track and measuring pipeline movement.
  • Evaluate conference opportunities within the market and assign attendance by appropriate personnel.
  • Work with existing PGB teams & existing clients to identify cross selling opportunities.
  • Hire, train, develop, and motivate the sales team.
  • Analyze and organize departmental operations, procedures, and structure.
  • Suggest and implement process and procedural improvements as needed to drive departmental efficiencies.
  • Monitor & measure individual team member results, and provide continuous, constructive feedback to ensure their success.
  • Assign team personnel’s book of business and adjust as necessary.
  • Train staff on bid management, crafting bid responses, and delivery of finalist presentations.
  • Travel with department personnel to client and prospect visits, conferences, benefit fairs, and other client facing meetings.
  • Assist team members with generating leads and building relationships with clients and key partners.
  • Demonstrate familiarity with insurance products and terminology regarding employee benefits and train department personnel.
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Travel is expected to be 50% in this role

Supervisory Responsibilities

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

Responsibilities include:

  • Lead and maintain positive department morale
  • Interviewing and hiring, new department employees
  • Training, mentoring, coaching, and motivating department personnel
  • Planning, assigning, and directing work
  • Appraising performance
  • Rewarding and disciplining employees
  • Addressing complaints and resolving problems
  • Manage the scheduling of vacation and other days off for department staff

What You'll Need

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred and/or 3-5 years of successful related experience
  • Must be willing to obtain insurance licenses
    • Life, Health and Accident, and LTC
  • Must have valid driver’s license
