Overview

We are seeking a Senior Compensation Analyst with a blend of technical expertise and strategic insight. If you excel in dynamic environments and have a passion for compensation, this opportunity is for you!

 

In this critical role, you will develop and optimize compensation strategies and frameworks. You will work closely with the Senior Compensation Manager to create job architecture, design salary structures, and implement both short-term and long-term incentive plans. Your responsibilities will also include utilizing project management skills to organize, plan, and execute projects from vision through implementation, analyzing project needs, determining necessary resources, and ensuring objectives are met.

What You'll Do

Compensation Strategy and Design:

  • Support the development and execution of comprehensive compensation strategies aligned with the company's business goals.
  • Develop and optimize job architecture, salary structures, and incentive plans to attract, retain, and engage skilled employees.

Compensation Analysis and Benchmarking:

  • Conduct market research, participate in salary surveys, and analyze compensation data using tools like Payscale/PayFactors.
  • Benchmark compensation packages against industry standards and local job markets, recommending adjustments for competitive positioning. Ensure consistent application of compensation policies across the organization.

Incentive Program Management:

  • Assist in designing and managing performance-based incentives and bonus plans.
  • Oversee the distribution, creation of educational materials, and tracking of these programs.

Compensation Administration:

  • Manage compensation technical setup, identify opportunities for process efficiency, and support mass employee data submissions.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of new HRIS/HCM features and leverage them for compensation management.

Compliance and Reporting:

  • Ensure adherence to compensation-related regulations and prepare necessary compliance reports.
  • Conduct audits to maintain regulatory compliance.

Employee Communication and Support:

  • Communicate compensation policies and program changes effectively to employees and managers.
  • Provide guidance and support for compensation-related queries and develop training materials.
  • Collaborate with finance, accounting, legal, and other cross-functional departments.

Data Management and Analytics:

  • Maintain compensation databases and conduct statistical analyses.
  • Prepare detailed reports and presentations for senior management, utilizing data analytics to identify trends and areas for improvement.

Budgeting and Financial Analysis:

  • Support budgeting processes for compensation and benefits.
  • Conduct financial modeling and maintain bonus accrual files.

Special Projects and Initiatives:

  • Lead or participate in special projects and initiatives, including the implementation of new compensation tools and systems.
  • Develop proposals for compensation program enhancements and other strategic initiatives.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field. MBA or relevant professional certifications (e.g., Certified Compensation Professional) preferred, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 4-6 years’ experience in Compensation, HR, Total Rewards, Finance, or a combination thereof. Preference for experience in executive compensation.
  • Familiarity with compensation incentive plans and experience with at least two merit cycles.
  • Experience in the calculation and administration of compensation incentive plans is strongly preferred.

 

Skills and Proficiency:

  • Expert proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint (Excel test will be given).
  • High proficiency in data analysis and reporting using HRIS systems, with strong preference for experience with Workday.
  • Strong understanding of compensation principles, practices, and market trends.
  • Excellent analytical skills for interpreting data, conducting salary surveys, and performing job evaluations.
  • Solid knowledge of applicable labor laws and regulations related to compensation.
  • Proven project management skills, including organizing, planning, and executing projects from vision through implementation.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex compensation concepts to a diverse audience.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive compensation information.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
